Writing quotes that win work
What to put in a quote so clients understand it, trust it and say yes faster.
A good quote does more than list prices. It shows the client you understood the job, tells them exactly what they get, and makes saying yes easy.
Start with their words
Open with a line that restates what the client asked for. It shows you listened and gives everyone the same starting point.
Break the work into clear lines
List the work in plain lines with quantities and prices. Clients compare quotes line by line, and a vague single total invites questions or doubt.
Say what is included and what is not
A short "included" and "not included" note heads off most disputes later. If there are assumptions, such as access to the site or materials supplied by the client, say so.
Show GST clearly
Show the subtotal, the GST and the total including GST. Businesses care about the GST amount; individuals care about the final figure.
Set a validity date
Prices change. A quote that is valid for 30 days protects you and gently encourages a decision.
Make accepting easy
Clients say yes faster when they can accept online in one click instead of printing, signing and scanning. Follow up a few days after sending if you have not heard back.
How CAQA Ops helps
Quote straight from a lead in the pipeline, with your branding, GST, numbering and a validity date added for you. Clients open the quote from an email link and accept it online, you are told straight away, and an accepted quote becomes an invoice in one click.
